Jonah ibn Matta Hadith and Mirza Ghulam

Postby xiaahmad » 21 Aug 2013, 10:41

Many times we here Ahmadis giving this Hadith about Jonah Ibn Matta
"He who says that I am better than Jonah Bin Matta tells a lie"

When they try to prove contradiction in saying of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) just to defend MGA contradiction

but this narration was declared weak by Mirza Ghulam himself

"(They) Present weak narrations that Prophet Muhammad (PUBH) forbade to give him more Fazelat than Jonah Bin Matta"
(Rohani Khazain Ainat Kamalat-e-Islam Page 163)

then he later said even IF we consider it sahih still that does not mean that.

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: "Indeed, messengership and Prophethood have terminated. So, there is no Messenger after me and no Prophet”.

Bismillahir-Rehmanir-Raheem, Ussalam-o-Alaikum.

Thing, that most of them don't understand, is that it's no place for a man to say who is good or better than others. The only one who has right to say this is ALLAH.

The quoted Hadith was said on an event between a Muslim and Jew in Prophet Mohd (PBUH) time, when each declared that their Prophet is better and in this argument, Muslim slapped the Jew and that Jew went to Propht Mohd (PBUH) and complaint about it, to this Prophet Mohd (PBUH) said that, it's no one right to say that I am better than others.

Just like in Quran, ALLAH says so that ALLAH is the one who raised ranks of some Prophets over others.

(Surah Al-Baqarah 2/253)
These Messengers: We favored some of them over others. Allah spoke directly to some of them and raised up some of them in rank....

So in other words, when it comes to being Prophet of ALLAH, all Prophets are equal, because ALLAH chose these people among all the mankind. So in this regard they are all the same holding the mental of Prophet hood. But than as ALLAH mentioned that HE favored some over others, could be in qualities, like for example, Prophet ISA (PBUH) was born without a father, Prophet Mosa (PBUH) favor was that ALLAH spoke to him directly and so on.

Also Hadith prohibits preferring some Prophets above others in cases of dispute and argument, such as the incident mentioned in the Hadith. The Hadith indicates that it is not up to creation to decide which Prophet is better, for this is Allah's decision. The creation is only required to submit to, obey and believe in Allah's decision.
